What is the Talent Pavilion FinTech 101 Course?

It is an online course designed to introduce key concepts and applications of financial technologies (FinTech) as well as sharing from personnel who have successfully transitioned into FinTech.

Who is this course for?

Students, youths, fresh graduates, professionals, career switchers or anyone who are interested to have a basic understanding of FinTech. 

Is there a prerequisite for this course?

There are no prerequisites to attend the course and it is suitable for anyone who would like to learn more about FinTech, especially for students and mid-career professionals looking to enter this exciting industry.

Is the course available online?

Yes. This is an online course that you can access anytime, anywhere from your computer or mobile device. 

How long does it take to complete the course?

It will take around 5 hours to complete.

Do I need to complete the course in one sitting?

No. The entire course is available to you the moment you are enrolled in the course. You are free to finish this course on the same day you enroll or up till the course’s closing date.

Will I get the Certification of Completion at the end of the course?

Learners who successfully completed all the modules and scored at least 80% on the assessment quizzes will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.

What should I do if I am unable to submit my quiz questions?

Please make sure you have answered all questions for that chapter before clicking submit. 

Why is my course completion rate so low?

All activity pages are calculated in the completion rate, please check if you have answered the open response questions on top of the quiz questions. 

Why is my course completion not full at 100%?

I am not a youth or someone aged 15 - 35 years old. Can I still take the course?

Yes, this course has no age requirements and is open to everyone of all ages who are keen to know more about FinTech.

Yes! The course is entirely free.

Learners who are enrolled in the Talent Pavilion FinTech 101 course will receive periodic email reminders to complete the course before it closes; upon course completion, their digital Certificates of Completion will be emailed to them.

Who developed the course?

The course is developed by by the youths at Singapore FinTech Youth Chapter (SFYC) in partnership with Talent Pavilion and the Monetary Authority of Singapore. 

What is SFYC and what do they do?

The Singapore FinTech Youth Chapter (SFYC) is a youth community affiliated to the Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) that enables youths with interest in FinTech to be connected to the FinTech community locally and overseas, as well as gain a deeper understanding and access to FinTech careers and opportunities locally and globally.


The Chapter is powered by PolyFinTech 100, a coordinated pan-polytechnic effort (comprising Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic) to deepen the collaboration with the FinTech industry and contribute to the development of a strong talent pool as part of the development of Singapore into a Smart Financial Centre and a global FinTech hub. 

What is MAS, what do they do?

Monetary Authority Singapore (MAS) is the central bank of Singapore. Their mission is to promote sustained non-inflationary economic growth, and a sound and progressive financial centre.
